SICILY SUN ROCK SPORT CLIMBING TRIP 2012.
3th - 17th March
Rock climbing in Sicily offers everything from big wall multi-pitch rock climbing to single pitch sports routes, with the added bonus of visiting an island steeped thousands of years of civilization and culture. The rock climbing here offers a great sense of adventure and there is a warmth and hospitality from the islands population who are always willing to help tourists and foreigners. One tranquil gem is San Vito Lo Capo. It’s a rapidly developing sport climbing venue in one of the most striking locations in Europe and offers hundreds of routes with nearly a third in the F5a - F6a range and half graded F6b+ and below so it’s a great venue for lower grade climbers as well as pizza enthusiasts.
Members can chose between a 1 week or 2 week trip. Flights are available from Stansted to Trapani by Ryanair at the usual low cost airline prices. Cars will be rented. The trip is not expected to be expensive but all details are tentative at the moment and there is a lot of time to arrange the detail.
Base
It would probably be best to be based in San Vito Lo Capo where there are plenty of apartments and bungalows.
